Name: Bengali Race: Thunderian [Tiger, most likely, a Bengal variety of tiger. It is hinted at in the cartoon, and more established in the comics produced in the United Kingdom that he is Tygra's younger brother, which would make Tygra a Bengal as well.] Occupation: ThunderCat Warrior [Prior to his service as a ThunderCat, Bengali was a blacksmith on Thundera, which is established in the cartoon by his own words.] Weapon: The Hammer of Thundera [The first time Bengali uses a hammer to do anything, it's just a plain old run of the thundrillium mine hammer, but eventually he obtains a proper 'weapon', though it's more of a tool than a weapon. Bengali's hammer does have the power to shoot some nifty energy beams from it, but it's a good thing the boy can fight in hand to hand combat.] Special Abilities: Bengali's smithing skills were able to save the Sword of Omens without a trip to a volcano. Apparently, Bengali has some idea of what 'secrets' the sword holds to be able to fix it as he did.
Love Interests: Bengali did have the pleasure of being trapped on an island for quite some time with an old man, a couple of Berbils, and a pretty, young puma. You do the math. But of course, nothing was ever shown to this effect, and Bengali doesn't much seem to pursue anyone once he's back in civilization. There are the vicious rumors that he had a more than friends relationship with Tygra, but that's just wrong on an incestuous level, and I'm just going to stop there on that. [Though, there is some excellent fan fiction out there by an author who calls herself Jewel, if you lean toward that explanation.] Episodes
of Interest: "ThunderCats, HO!" intruduced him, and "Mummra
Lives!" gives a better idea of this cat's abilities and
mannerisms. "Catfight" and "The Mask of the
Gorgon" are also fairly good Bengali episodes to watch.
Catch Phrase & Quotes: Nothing comes to mind right at this moment, but he gets
whiney and complains every time he gets left behind to guard the lair or the
tower. He also has a slight problem with growling before starting a
sentence. Final Thoughts: The question still remains as whether Bengali and Tygra really were true brothers, or perhaps clan brothers. Could it even have been that Tygra was just happy to have another tiger around? Have a catch phrase or quote you think should be here? Just dying to add some info I missed? E-mail me! |
