The pictures below were taken on September 20th, 2002.  The first one is the only decent picture I was able to get of Cherry and Hershey, who were cage mates.  Cherry isn't easy to see, as she is all white, and the flash makes it hard to see her.  However, Hershey, who was sitting on the ground, I was able to get.  As far as I know, this is the only picture I have of that little sweetie.  Hershey passed away on October 22nd, just about a month after this was taken, of what was apparently a sinus infection.  Sadly, at 3:19 a.m. on Sunday, March 9, 2003, Cherry passed away.  She had battled cancer for well over a year and was the bravest little rat I ever met. 

Below, I have pictures of Cappuccino, who is likely to stand or sit still long enough for a picture to be taken.  Hershey and Cherry were always much more interested in touching and tasting the camera to get a good picture, but Cappuccino will even pose when I bring the camera to her cage.  Cappuccino is younger by over a year, and has had her own cage because Cherry does not like to be in a cage with her.  They have a few issues playing outside of a cage as well.  I do wish I'd have thought to get a picture of Hershey with Cappuccino, because they always played and cuddled together.  Right before Cherry passed away, we ended up moving Cappuccino and Cherry into a cage together.  At first, they were a little cautious of one another, but in the end, they were snuggling a lot.  More pictures of that to follow, some especially cute ones from the last week or so that Cherry was with us.

We're helping to take care of a pair of stray kittens that were rescued by my mother-in-law from her neighbor who was going to drown them.  They are both females, the top one is Martina, and the bottom one is Pocahontas.  We're trying to find someone who will take them as a pair, but they're still fairly shy about being held.

I talk quite a bit about the library that is being built in my hometown.  Here's a picture I took on August 15th, 2002. I'm especially fond of the 'moat' around the building, heh heh.  I hope to have a more updated picture in the near future.

Here's a picture of Faero with Cherry.  She was a very calm rat, and would sit on our shoulders for quite a time without getting rambunctious like her sisters.  This was taken on March 8th, 2003.
