Cheetah Cubs!

I promised Faero when we adopted Leonus that he would be the last cub that we would adopt.  I didn't know it at the time, but I was lying.  When I saw Barry and Allen race through the hallway leaving skid marks on the linoleum, I knew these two would be coming home with us.  It took some time to convince Faero of this fact, but when he came to The Adamante Orphanage to meet them, he wanted to take them home the same day.

While picking up spaceboards for Leonus and Panethea to use during the upcoming school year, we knew it would be an issue to come home with really cool new toys for the two of them and nothing for Barry and Allen.  The clerk at the Adamante Children's Store suggested this three foot in diameter mega fun ball.  Luckily, it came in various colors, and we were able to find one that was blue and yellow and red.  As long as Leonus doesn't do anything to cause it to pop, the cubs should be very happy with their new toy.

The twins have been doing great, although Kindergarten has been an adventure this year.  To help keep the teachers from being confused, Barry and Allen were placed in different classes.  They have realized that even though people close to them can tell them apart, that the teachers cannot.  Since Barry likes gym class, and Allen prefers art time, they have worked out a system to leave the classroom at specific times, meet up in the restroom, and switch to the other class.  An ingenious plan, they expected no one would figure out.  However, my suspicions were aroused after they eagerly asked me to teach them how to tell time on 'clocks with big sticks on them'.

When I began to make sure they weren't wearing the same outfits to school, they began to swap clothes in the restroom when they did the switches.  This I discovered when they again became overly interested in learning something, this time, how to tie and double knot sneakers.  I suspect Leonus somehow turned them on to the idea of this plot.  I can only imagine the things they will plan when they are in high school.

Faero and I took Barry and Allen out this evening to go Christmas shopping while Panthro watched Panethea, Leonus, and Tomy (for information on Tomy, visit Faero's site).  Once we got to the mall, we split up, so I went around with Allen looking for gifts for him to give.  When I started asking him about what he wanted to get for Christmas, he asked if I could tell Santa not to give him much so that his extra toys could go to the others children at the orphanage he was at.  We shopped for a little while longer, then met up for dinner with Faero and Barry.  I mentioned what Allen had talked about earlier, and we agreed that perhaps it would be a nice idea to buy some toys to be taken to the Adamante Orphanage for the children their for Christmas.   We picked up a number of board games, stuffed animals, and other toys, which I plan to take to the Orphanage tomorrow.  I think the twins actually had more fun picking out the toys for the Orphanage than they've ever had picking out toys for themselves.

Things are getting fairly hectic around the house with all of these cubs around!  Yesterday was the twins' seventh birthday!  We had a blast!  Uncle Panthro came over with the ThunderTank so that the twins could ride to Chuck E Cheese's in it.  The rest of us piled into the war wagon and headed on over.  Panethea and Allen spent most of the afternoon playing in the ball pit and obstacle course after we ate lunch, and the rest of the kids played video games and skee ball.  Cheetara was good enough to watch Tomy for us, and we brought Chase and Thera along for the fun.

We ended up having two birthday cakes - Barry wanted one with firetrucks on it, and Allen wanted a Yu-Gi-Oh cake.  Needless to say, Yu-Gi-Oh characters apparently can't ride on firetrucks.  Of course, there was lots of pizza and soda, and Chuck E Cheese and his band sang Happy Birthday to the twins during lunch.

We had to wait to give them their presents until we got home.  Both of the cubs have been asking about getting a pet for some time, and they finally got their wish.

Allen was delighted to find that we had found a little black kitten, just as he had requested.  Here she is, and she has been named Xandria.

Barry is more of a canine lover, and had hoped for a puppy.  We were able to find one for him at the Adamante Adoption Agency's Store, which is the same place we bought Xandria.  Here is Tuvalu, Barry's canine sabertooth.

Tuvalu and Xandria seem to be getting along just fine with everyone, including the snarves.  The house is beginning to get a bit full, though, so it may soon be time to go hunting for a new place to live.
