Hagrid (Mark) Headmistress Buttercup (Zhie) and Professor Felicia Filtch (Monty)
Early in the morning,
before any of the students arrive, Zhie carefully prepares the list of students
for the summer sessions at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
You may take note of the pirate decorations - our Summer Reading theme for 2004 is Treasure Books. Arrrr! Be a Book-aneer - Read! Okay, enough promotional stuff, onto the magic!
Back in the Faculty Lounge
at Hogwarts, our professors and visiting headmistresses from Beauxbatons and
Durmstrang, as well as our prefects, are readying themselves for the students.
At the door in the blue and gold, Prof. Isabel Riddle from Beauxbatons Academy. She headed Ravenclaw for us last year and taught Defense Against the Dark Arts. Next to her, Prof. Radu of Durmstrang Institute, interestingly enough, a teacher of the Dark Arts. At the far right, Tony, our head boy and Ravenclaw Prefect. In focus at the front is Prof. Felicia Filtch, apprentice to Prof. Trelawny in the art of Divination, and also, our Slytherin head of house.
At Ollivander's Wands,
students are greeted by Hagrid and receive a wand to decorate. Our wands
are either mallorn wood with dragon phoenix feather cores or dark Imladrin pine
with unicorn hair cores. As we can see, Headmistress Radu from Durmstrang
is performing a wand weighing with one of the prospective TriWizard
competitors. It's very important that all wands be in proper working order
before the tournament begins.

The students eagerly await the beginning of the Sorting Ceremony outside the Great Hall. Prof. Esmarelda Greenwich, head of Ravenclaw House and former head of Slytherin explains the ceremony to the first years. Prof. Greenwich teaches Remedial Potions during the summer session, and is also a charms expert.
