Rating: NC-17
Pairings: Gil-galad/Elrond, Glorfindel/Erestor (implied), Elrond/Celebrian (implied)
Summary: Elrond looks back on his life. Written for the Hall of Books LJ challenge.

Feedback: Yes, please.
Warnings: Character death, male/male sex, cute elfling twins.

Notes: I have taken the liberty of deciding that for this story, Elrond and Elros were in their 20’s when they came to Gil Galad. I also know that the founding of Lindon would have been after this time, but for this story, Lindon is already founded. Enjoy!

Chapter 1

Elrond sat on the lounger, on the balcony of his chambers in Imladris. Celebrian lay sleeping by his side, her head resting on his chest. They were both exhausted from chasing their ever-growing twin sons around. Their dear friends, Glorfindel and Erestor, gave them a very welcome respite. The advisor and seneschal were entertaining Elladan and Elrohir in the courtyard where Elrond and Celebrian could see them.

The game of Orcs and Trolls now over and a game of hide and seek was under way. Erestor was counting while Glorfindel and the twins were starting to hide. Glorfindel had chosen a large bush directly under Elrond's balcony and when he turned to hide, the twins were right behind him.

"Where do you two think you are going?" The tall blonde asked.

The 18-year-old twins looked up at him. "Wherever you go, Fin."

Hearing Erestor nearing the end of his count, he scooped them up in each arm, earning him a giggle. "Alright, my young princes, but if he finds us, you must promise to protect me."

Elrond heard them whisper, "We promise. We will protect you, Fin."

Elrond was taken back to a time, long ago, when he and his twin, Elros, were taken to live in Lindon with the High-King Gil galad. They had been with Maglor for many years after being taken from their home at the Havens of Sirion. Both were very scared, but Maglor had assured them they would be safe and loved with Gil galad.

Elrond and Elros were 26 years old when they came to live in Lindon. They were inseparable, quickly came to love Lindon, and adored Gil galad. They studied with the king's advisor, Erestor and enjoyed spending time with him. He made them learn, but he made it fun.

The twins had missed Gil, as the last few days he had been very busy, leaving little time for them. They snuck out of their classroom in search of the king. The king walked with determined steps down the hallway of the palace that lead outside. Everyone thought he was going to an important meeting with Cirdan and he was, but the meeting was taking place in a tavern at the docks. The king looked forward to getting away from the palace and his duties for a few hours, and throwing back some ale with his dear friend.

As he descended the steps, he heard whispering and little steps following him. Grinning, he quickened his steps and heard his followers running to keep up and panting from exertion. He stopped quickly, turning to see Elrond and Elros falling over each other trying not to fall onto him. They had been his constant shadows since coming to live with him in Lindon and he adored them.

"Where do you think you are going?" He crossed his arms over his broad chest.

"Wherever you go, sire." They said in unison.

Gil knelt down, suddenly realizing how tall they were getting. "Where I am going, you cannot go. You are too young, pin nith. I am sorry. You must stay here." He motioned for them to return to the palace where their tutor, Erestor was waiting for them.

They turned to see Erestor standing at the top of the stairs waiting for them. "Come, young ones, back to your lessons," they turned and slowly made their way back to the palace. Gil smiled and mouthed 'thank you' to Erestor, who bowed slightly. "Have a pleasant evening, my lord."

The older elves laughter and his son's giggling brought Elrond back to the present. He glanced into the courtyard where a wrestling match was just won by the twins. Each was perched on top of his friends and was crowing their victory.

"We win, Erestor. You promised cookies for us if we won and we did," Elladan said, his hands on his little hips as he held Erestor down with on tiny foot to his chest.

"Yes! Yes, you promised," Elrohir begged, as he straddled Glorfindel's chest.

"That's right Erestor, you did promise." Glorfindel chided as he sat up, holding Elrohir.

"All right then, let us away to the kitchens." They stood and lifted the twins onto their shoulders.

Elrond chuckled and hugged Celebrian tighter to him. Again, he thought back to his childhood and then later, to one of the hardest times of his life.

Elrond's twin, Elros had made his decision to live as a mortal and Elrond was devastated. While he did not let the full extent of his feelings show to his brother, he could not hide them from his king. Gil galad heard muffled sound coming from the twin's room as he walked to his chambers for the night. He stopped and then recognizing the sounds as sobs, he knocked and opened the door. Finding Elrond despondent on the couch, he quickly sat next to him and held him tightly, letting Elrond cry until he was exhausted.

They had celebrated their majority only a week earlier and Gil had watched Elrond grieve a little more each day since Elros had made his decision.

"You will never be alone, pen neth." Gil whispered.

"But, I will not have my twin. We have been together always and now he will leave me." The last few words laced with anger.

"I can only try and understand your feelings, Elrond, but would you have him stay and deny what his heart wants?"

No, but I do not know life without him. He has been pulling away for about a year now, always spending time with the men in the village," he sighed and leaned against Gil's chest. "Do you know what he told me tonight?" Gil shook his head. "He said he wanted his own room, that we were too old to be sharing chambers. He said he may wish to bring an elleth back to his room and it would be awkward if I was there."

Gil chuckled, "He has a point, sweet one. Do you not wish for a companion sometimes? You have past you majority and can seek comfort and release with another if you wish."

Gil held his breath. He had harbored thoughts of having Elrond for sometime but had never told anyone. He had been closer to Elrond than he was to Elros, thus spent much more time with him. He felt his feeling were shameful especially since Elrond had not met his majority, but now he had. He wondered if Elrond had ever thought of him; did he even have a preference. Gil had never talked with him about the subject.

Elrond thought about the king's words. Could he tell him, could he tell him that it was him that he thought about sharing himself with? It was Gil that he wished to find comfort with. Could he tell him that it was his name he whispered when he found release with his own hand? Had the king ever notice how he constantly watched him and sought him out to spend time with?

"I have thought that there may be some one that I would like to spend time with," Gil felt his heartache at Elrond's admission. "I do not think that he thinks of me that way, though."

Gil's ears perked up when he heard Elrond's preference. "I think he would be a fool to not wish to be with you, Elrond. So, you have not told him how you feel?"

Elrond shook his head. "I have been afraid of his rejection."

"You should tell him. You will not know his feelings until you do."

Elrond sat up, gathered his courage and looking from his hands to the king's face several times, finally spoke. "It is you, my lord."

Gil sat stunned for a few moments. "Me, pen neth?"

"I have loved you since we arrived here and my feelings started out as a son to a father and then more like friends. For the last few years, I have felt them change to love and..." Elrond was blushing as he looked into Gil galad's eyes. "...and desire."

Gil's heart soared. "Oh, pen neth, please be sure of your feelings, for I have desired you as well. I was ashamed of my feelings for you were so young, but I love you and desire you."

Elrond smiled brightly. "You have? I am most sure of my feelings."

Gil leaned forward and gently kissed Elrond. The warmth he felt as their lips met was overwhelming. Elrond wrapped his arms around the king's shoulders and moaned. Gil felt his body reacting and knew he could easily loose control, so he broke the kiss.

"Where is you brother?"

"He is at the Lion's Inn, in the village."

Gil looked around and then back to Elrond. "Will you come with me to my chambers?"

"I will go wherever you go." Elrond smiled as Gil took his hand and led him from the room.

Chapter 2

As Gil galad held Elrond, kissing him deeply and caressing his back with one hand as the other arm wrapped around his waist, Elrond's heart raced. His fantasy was finally coming true.

"You do not know how long I have dreamed of being kissed by you, Gil." Elrond said, breathless from their kiss.

Gil Chuckled, "Oh. Yes I do, Elrond. I have dreamed of this too."

Feeling confident from Gil galad's words, Elrond let his arms slip from the king's shoulders and slowly slide down his back, until he cupped the other's firm buttocks. Gil grinned and quirked his eyebrow; a bit surprised but very pleased with Elrond's actions.

"Is this all right?' Elrond was suddenly unsure.

"That is most all right." He threaded his finger through Elrond's dark hair and gripped the back of his head, kissing his roughly, thrusting his tongue past Elrond's lips. His hands gripped the muscled globes in his hands and they both moaned, shifting so their erections brushed together.

Gil pulled back quickly. "Pen neth, I want you; I need you. Are you sure you want this to go further."

Elrond began backing towards the bed, pulling his love with him. "I want nothing more, meleth. Have me."

Gil launched himself at Elrond, growling as they landed on the bed. The king covered Elrond's body with his own, grinding his hips into him. Elrond writhed beneath him, pulling at Gil's clothing.

"Need to feel you, need to touch you." Elrond whimpered.

Gil sat up, straddling the young one's legs and slowly began removing his own clothes. Each time Elrond reached to touch him, his hand was swatted away.

"Patience, Elrond. We have all night."

"But, I want you now."

Gil chuckled and pulled at Elrond's clothing until he was nude as well.

"You are so beautiful, meleth. So beautiful." He leaned to take one rosy bud in his mouth, causing Elrond to hiss and arch his back into the erotic touch.

Elrond wanted to say something, but suddenly he could not breathe and his mind had no coherent thoughts. Instead, he moaned and whimpered as Gil's tongue made a path to his groin and when he engulfed Elrond's arousal in his mouth, the younger elf howled loudly and thrust his hips towards the heat and wetness.

Gil smiled around the shaft in his mouth, pleased he was the cause of Elrond's reaction. With a few flicks of his tongue, and the gently but insistent suction, Gil's mouth was quickly filled with the sweetest nectar he had ever experienced.

Elrond's body convulsed and he trembled as he came down from the highest high he had ever experienced. Gil crawled back up to kiss Elrond and caressed him while his body and breathing calmed.

"Are you ready for more, lover?" Gil whispered.

"Please...more...yes." Elrond's eyes fluttered open.

"Then trust me."

"I trust you, my lover." He let Gil gently and thoroughly prepare him, reveling in the feeling of being filled, first with the long slender fingers of his lover and then the thick hard shaft. Elrond held his breath until the slight burn became pure pleasure.

Gil began to slowly thrust; their eyes staying locked on one another. The king being ever mindful of any sign of pain from his young lover, but finding only love and trust. Elrond wound his legs around Gil's waist and began meeting his thrusts. Spurred on by the feeling of Elrond encasing him, Gil's thrusts became erratic and he could feel Elrond's renewed arousal nudging his stomach.

"Touch yourself for me. Let me see you come undone again. Let go." He whispered against Elrond's cheeks.

Elrond slid his hand down his abdomen and gripped his arousal. It only took a few strokes, combined with feeling Gil moving inside him, for Elrond to find release again, crying out his lover's name.

The grip of Elrond's passage around his cock sent Gil over the edge shortly after his lover.

Lying together, their limbs tangled and feeling completely sated, Gil smiled and kissed Elrond's nose. "I hope you had no plans to go back to your room tonight, because I want to sleep with you in my arms and then wake up to your beautiful face when the sun blesses us with her warm rays."

"I would love to stay if you wish it." Elrond said sleepily.

"I wish it."

"Well, who am I to refuse my king." Elrond grinned, kissed Gil and snuggled deeper in the embrace.

Elrond was brought back to the present, as Celebrian stirred and snuggled closer to him. The afternoon was waning and soon the pitter-patter of little but very loud feet would be bounding through the door. Elrond kissed the top of Celebrian's head, her sweet scent surrounding him. He wondered how he had been so blessed to have been loved by two such truly incredible elves. He sent a silent prayer of thanks to the Valar.

Elrond smiled at the sound of the door opening and his sons running onto the balcony. They came to his side and leaned on him, giggling as he signaled them to be quiet because their nana was sleeping.

"Nana is so beautiful, ada." Elrohir smiled and Elladan nodded in agreement.

"I know. I think she is the most beautiful elleth on all of Arda."

The twins giggled and Celebrian grinned. She stretched, pretending not to have heard them.

"How are the loves of my life?"

"We are well, nana..."
"We had so much fun today..."
"We played Orc and Trolls..."
"Then hide and seek..."
'Then we beat Restor and Fin wrestling..."
"Erestor gave us cookies and milk..."
"And now we came back to see you and Ada..."

Elrond grinned behind his hand as Celebrian's head turned from one son to the other and he wondered if they would always finish each other's thoughts. Yes, how did I become so blessed?

Chapter 3

Elrond sat under the trees at the Bruinen holding his year old daughter, Arwen. Celebrian sat nearby reading and their now 111-year-old sons, Elladan and Elrohir, were climbing onto a wooden raft that Glorfindel and Erestor had built.

Elrond loved how close his son's were and very proud of the ellyn they were becoming. Elladan and Elrohir shared a closeness that he and his own twin Elros never did. While they would be faced with the same choice, of choosing mortality or immortality, that he and his brother faced, Elrond knew his sons would make the same choice. They would never leave one another.

Watching Elladan float away from the bank, Elrohir laughing at the rickety raft, Elrond thought back to a very difficult day.

The docks were bustling with trunks, crates, and livestock being carried onto the ships. People, mortals, were filing onto the decks of the ships. Elrond stood on the dock with Gil galad, Cirdan and Elros. The time had come to say goodbye.

The Valar had created the island of Numenor as a reward for the faithfulness of men during the First Age. Elros was leading the humans that lived in Beleriand to the island.
Elrond watched with pride as his brother took charge, giving orders and guidance when needed. He was a natural leader, born for this position, but this was bittersweet, for they knew they would not see one another again.

Elros came to Gil galad, "There is so much to say but I cannot find the words. Thank you. Thank you for all you have done for me. I love you, my king."

Gil hugged him close. "You are a king now, pen neth. There is not a finer choice to lead the race of men. I am so proud if you. Live happy, live well." Cupping his face, Gil added. "Send word when you can. We will look forward to any word from you."

"I will, I promise." Elros turned Elrond. "Well, muindor, it is time."

Elrond had yet to meet Elros' gaze. "Erestor should be here."

"I have said my goodbyes to him already. I did not think I could face his teary eyes here."

Elrond looked up at his brother. "You said you would go wherever I go and I would go wherever you go."

"Elrond, we are not those elflings we were when we made that pact, and our lives have taken very different paths. We each had a *choice* and I have made mine. I would not ask you to change yours."

"I do not ask you to change yours, I will just miss you."

"As I will miss you, desperately, but you have much to do here as I have much to do there," he hugged Elrond, kissing his cheek and placing his hand over Elrond's heart and taking Elrond's hand and placing it over his. "I will always be here and you will always be in my heart. No one and no distance can change that. No amount of time will ever replace us in our hearts. Not even my death can force me from your heart, muindor. I love you, Elrond. Be happy." He pulled back and placed his brow to his brothers. "Live well, my brother." Elros kissed Elrond's brow and walked to the ship. As he climbed the gangplank, he turned back raising his left hand in the air and his right hand over his heart. Elrond did the same and managed to smile through his tears.

A tug on his hair returned Elrond's thoughts to the present. Looking into the eyes of his daughter, he smiled. Elros would be proud he thought. I am happy and I am well. He could not help but smile as he watched his family and friends on this beautiful afternoon.

Chapter 4

Notes: It is written that the people of Numenor were forbidden to sail west for fear that they would become envious of the Undying Lands. So, if Numenor lay to the west of Middle Earth, then they would have to sail east to go there. This is why I think it possible that Manwendil and Atanalcar could have gone to Lindon.

Also, I know that Elros was granted an exceptionally long time, 500 years, but I wasn't sure if he would have outlived his children. For the sake of this story, they have long life as well. I welcome corrections if anyone knows different.

Elrond watched as his young foster son, Estel, trained with his twin sons, Elladan and Elrohir. Glorfindel had taken to heart, Elrond's request that he train Estel himself. Not needing words to know Estel was important to the future. With all their teasing, the twins loved Estel and protected him.

Elrond watched Estel's movements as he trained with the sword. While in looks he could not see his brother, he knew Elros was there. Estel would someday be the leader of men, though he did not know that was his future. He did not know the royal blood that ran in his veins. Elrond knew he would have to tell him eventually, but now was not the time, not yet.

Elrond and the king returned from a day of riding. Erestor met them on the steps, looking worried.

"What is amiss, meldir?" The king asked.

"I need you and Elrond to come with me. Please, sire." Erestor gave Elrond a sympathetic smile that Elrond was not at all comfortable with. He knew Erestor to be honest and straight forward, and this nervous behavior was most unlike him.

"What has happened, Erestor?" Elrond grasped his arm to stop him.

"Come, there is someone here to see you. They can tell you more."

They followed him to the king's study. Once inside, they noticed two males standing at the window. When they turned to face them, Elrond gasped. He knew who they were and quickly concluded why they were here. They were old and bearded, but he could see Elros in their eyes.

Both males bowed and tried to smile. "King Ereinion Gil galad, it is a great honor to meet you."

"Thank you. Welcome to Lindon." Gil was surprised; they seemed familiar, but he had never met them.

Both men turned to Elrond. "Uncle, we have been most anxious to meet you. Father spoke of you so often and with so much joy and affection."

Elrond smiled and approached them. Gil and Erestor stayed back; the king giving Erestor a quizzical look and Erestor nodded, confirming that these were indeed Elros' sons. The realization of what must have happened to bring them here hit him. He started to move to Elrond but Erestor stopped him with a gentle hand.

"Welcome, I am honored to meet you," They embraced each other. "I was not sure I would ever meet any of you."

"I am Manwendil and this is Atanalcar. We are the youngest of our father's sons."

Elrond noticed the tears in the younger one's, Atanalcar, eyes and reached to take his hand. "I am sorry, but it is as if father were standing before us."

"He has passed, hasn't he?"

They both nodded. "Two months ago. I am sorry we were not able to come sooner. We were helping our brother after he refused the crown and gave it to his son, Amandil. Our sister was not well enough for the journey, but she wanted, so much, to meet you."

"I knew when it happened. I could feel him saying goodbye to me and I could feel part of my heart go missing." Elrond whispered.

Erestor answered the door and took the tray that was delivered. "Why don't we all sit down?" He motioned to the sitting area.

"Will you stay with us for a while? I know we would all love to hear about you and your families, your life on Numenor and Elros."

"We can stay for several days, but not too long. I am to become a great grandfather soon." Atanalcar smiled.

"Oh that is wonderful, pen neth." Elrond grinned.

Manwendil chuckled. "Father never stopped calling us pen neth. I used to tell him it seemed funny to call a bearded old man pen neth."

"To the Firstborn, everyone is a pen neth." Erestor laughed.

Silence reigned for a few moments, everyone in their own thoughts of Elros. Gil could see Elrond's strong front crumbling. "Erestor, meldir, why don't you see Manwendil and Atanalcar to rooms," Gil turned back to their guests, "You can freshen up and rest. I will have someone come and get you for dinner. We can talk more then."

"I would love a bath and a bed. Thank you, sire." Manwendil bowed.

"Please, call me Gil. Your father was very dear to me."

"Very well, Gil." They stopped briefly to take Elrond's hand and exchange smiles, "Father talked of living here and how much he had loved it here. In fact, when the end was very near, he insisted on being taken to the shore and facing east. He wanted to die looking to the land he came from." Erestor had to wipe his eyes before he led them from the room.

As the door closed, Elrond collapsed; Gil caught him just before he hit the floor. He lifted him and took him to their room, holding him for hours until Elrond had no more tears to cry.

Laughter brought him to the present. Elladan and Glorfindel were laughing as Estel pinned Elrohir to the ground. Elrond smiled, knowing Estel was the hope of Middle Earth. The line of his brother had almost been destroyed once in the Fall of the Numenor, and Elrond vowed to never let that happen. He would do all in his power to guide Estel and help him meet his destiny.

Chapter 5

Note: Arwen is 30 for this chapter, which is about 10 human years.

"Ada, your ring is pretty." Arwen said, as she stroked Vilya on her father's finger.

"Thank you, Arwen. This is Vilya. It is a very important ring and was given to me by the High King Gil galad."

"It has a pretty blue stone...like Glorfindel's eyes." Elrond laughed, he knew his daughter was enamored with the return warrior. "Can I wear it?"

"No, my love, I am sorry, but I am the only one who can wear Vilya. I must never take it off. It is to help protect Imladris and all who live here. It helps warn me if any evil should try to come here."

"Oh...then do not take it off, Ada. I do not want anything bad to come here. But, if it did, Glorfindel would save us, wouldn't he, Ada?" Arwen had climbed on his lap and was facing him, looking very serious.

He hugged her close. "Yes, sweet one, Glorfindel would save us."

Elrond lay in Gil's arms. "I cannot believe I let you convince me leaving here was a good thing."

The king kissed his brow. "Elrond, there is no other I would trust to complete this task. The shadow continues to grow and there must be a safe place for all in the east. You and Erestor must be successful."

"I know and I agree that a place in the east is a good idea, but I do not want to leave you. How will I bear it?"

"You will bear it the same way I will. Knowing that we love each other will help us cope. No matter what the distance, know that I love you."

"As I love you." Elrond whispered and then moaned as Gil roll atop him, making love to him again.

The morning came and everyone was silent as they readied to leave. Erestor, Elrond and a small contingent of warriors would be traveling to find their new home. The king had provided maps and given them a few suggestions of where they may look for a safe place.

Elrond, Erestor and the captain of their guards met with the king prior to their departure. As the meeting concluded, Elrond sat silent, the time had come and he dreaded it.

"Erestor, would you stay, please?" Erestor stopped and let the guard pass him. "Close the door. I need you to witness what I am about to do."

Elrond stood when Gil come to him. Erestor stood next to them. "Elrond, I need to give this to you." They watched as he removed Vilya from his finger and placed it on Elrond's.

"Meleth, no, you cannot." Elrond tried to pull his hand away.

Gil held his hand firmly. "I can and I am. I want you to have Vilya. You and the haven you create will need her protection. You must take it, please."

Elrond stood stunned, staring at the ring and then at his lover and king. "I do not know what to say. I hope your confidence in me is not misplaced." Gil pulled Elrond into his arms and kissed him, long and deep.

Erestor grinned and finally cleared his throat. "If you do not need me further, I will go and see that everything is ready. I will wait for you in the courtyard."

They both moaned the affirmative without breaking the kiss. Erestor laughed as he left the room.

One year later, Elrond and Erestor stood atop a cliff, looking into a beautiful and lush valley below.

"This is it, meldir. This will be our new home." Elrond placed an arm around Erestor.

"It is a beautiful valley, Elrond. I think it is perfect."

"Imladris. That is what we will call our home." Elrond turned to mount his horse and return to their group. They rejoined their ever-growing traveling band. They had met many displaced elves during their journey and they had welcomed them to join them in search of the safe haven.

Gildor Inglorion and his gypsy elves had also joined them and awaited their word before he led the group downward.

Gildor smiled when he saw them return. "Do you have good news for us, meldir?"

"This is it, Gildor. The valley below will be our home and safe haven for all." Elrond smiled proudly.

"Elrond has already named our home. Imladris, it will be called." Erestor sat tall on his mount, never feeling quite so proud of his former pupil and now dear friend.

"Well, lead the way, Elrond, Lord of Imladris." Gildor grinned and nudged his horse, making way for the lord of the new valley.

Elrond stared at him for a moment, contemplating his title. He looked down at Vilya on his hand and thought of his lover. "I cannot wait for Gil to see this place."

Celebrian's voice made Elrond look up. He did not know how long he had sat there but Arwen was now asleep on his chest with her hand wrapped around Vilya.

"Safe in her ada's arms." Celebrian kissed his brow.

"From my conversation earlier, I think she would rather be with Glorfindel." Elrond pouted, causing Celebrian to giggle.

"Let her go to Glorfindel, and then your arms will be free to hold me." She sat on the couch next to him as he slipped his arm around her. He was happy to be where he was and happy to have Vilya on his finger. At times, the weight of the ring seemed unbearable, but he would not remove it for any reason.

Chapter 6

Note: Completely my imagination as to how the battle happened. Enjoy!

Erestor moved quietly around Elrond's office. Work had to be done and correspondence answered, but Elrond was in no mood today. Erestor kept a close eye on his dearest friend, knowing it was best to leave Elrond to his own thoughts, but he would stay close in case he was needed.

Gil and Elrond entered the tent, covered in dirt, ash and Orc blood. After handing their weapons to their squires, who would clean them to be ready in the morning, Gil pulled Elrond close, kiss him roughly and then began to chuckle.

"What can you possible find so funny?" Elrond grinned at Gil's laughing.

"I love you, Elrond, but we stink," he continued to laugh. "Come, let us bathe. Today was a good day for the Alliance and I felt the shift in our favor. Tomorrow will be even better."

They walked to the tub, filled with warm water, and relaxed against each other.

"Today was good day, Gil, but Sauron felt the shift too. He will come hard tomorrow."

"I know, but so will we." Gil began to clean the filth from his lover, kissing the clean skin as it was revealed. Elrond did the same, loving each touch they bestowed on each other.

After bathing, eating and finally making it to their makeshift bed, Elrond stared at the face of his king, caressing his lips with calloused fingertips, ghosting his fingers across Gil's brow, and finally lifting his chin to meet his lips in a tender kiss.

"If you continue, my love, I will be lulled to sleep before I can make love to you." Gil's lips turned up in a sly smile, his eyes still closed.

"Make love to me then, for I cannot stop touching you. You are beautiful." Elrond whispered.

Gil opened his eyes, seeing Elrond's eyes reflecting all the love that he felt. "I do love you." Gil rolled to his back, pulling Elrond on top of him. "I wish to feel you inside me, Elrond."

Elrond's eyebrows rose and he smiled. It would not be the first time he would take Gil, but it had happened rarely, and he would savor this time. No one knew what tomorrow would bring.

Gil grunted his release, fisting Elrond's still damp hair. Elrond licked the king's softening erection and moved back up Gil's chest kissing his way to the slightly parted lips. Gil wrapped his legs around Elrond and pulled him close as Elrond slowly entered him.

Their lips never parted as Elrond thrust slowly and deeply. Gil groaned each time Elrond's erection brushed his sensitive gland. Elrond thrust his tongue, making deep swipes in Gil's mouth, savoring the sweet taste of his lover.

Feeling his lover's penis begin to harden against his belly, Elrond struggled to hold his orgasm off until Gil could come with him. He wanted this to last as long as possible.

The king could feel his lover's resolve breaking, his muscles quivering and his breathing quicken, "Hold back no longer, Elrond. Fill me, let go, my love." With those whispered words and the love blazing in Gil's eyes, Elrond's body arched and he thrust once more, spilling his essence into Gil's waiting body. Gil found release shortly after, covering their stomachs with his hot seed.

"I love you." Elrond whispered as he rolled to the side and cleaned them quickly.

"I love you. Sleep, my love, sleep. We will watch over each other in our dreams." He kissed Elrond's lips as they both drifted into reverie.

The end was near and all could feel it. The alliance was winning. Sauron's evil forces were retreating. Elrond, Gil galad, Erestor, Elendil and Isildur all fought near one another. There was a sudden howl causing most to cower. The form of Sauron appeared, marching towards the king and Elendil who stood tall. Everyone watched as they fought; the elf king and leader of men gaining the upper hand on the evil one.

Sauron howled again and swung his sword, causing Gil to loose his balance, then seeing the opportunity, swung again cutting deep into the king's chest armor and also hitting Elendil. Elrond watched in horror as his lover swayed, then regained his balance. Elendil had been cut down by the hit and Isildur crawled to his father's side.

Gil looked back over his shoulder to Elrond. His lover knew what he was doing and Elrond's heart clenched. 'Don't you say goodbye to me.' he thought and started to run to his lover's side.

Gil galad raised Aiglos and threw the spear as hard as he could, striking Sauron in the chest. Sauron's body twisted and Isildur used the opportunity to strike out with the broken sword of his father, cutting Sauron's hand off that held the One Ring. The sky thundered and the creatures of Sauron screamed and ran at seeing their leader fall. With a great screech, Sauron vanished. The fight was over; the alliance had won, but at a great cost.

Elrond caught Gil as he fell, cradling him to the ground. "No, no, meleth, please." Elrond whispered, looking into the king's eyes.

"It is all right, my love. It is over. He has been defeated." Gil reached up to wipe the tears from Elrond's face.

There were shouts all around them. Erestor was calling for the healers and Cirdan was calling for a litter to be brought to bring the king to the healing tents. Elrond just held his lover, praying to the Valar, but knowing Gil was fading already. The bright light that had always shone in his eyes was dimming.

As the king's body was being put on the litter, Cirdan stood quietly by. "Elrond, Isildur has the ring."

Elrond wearily looked at Isildur bowing over his father's lifeless body, rocking back and forth with his hand tightly fisted around the ring.

"Cirdan, please keep an eye on him. I must go with Gil."

Cirdan hugged him tightly. "Go, I will make sure of his whereabouts and then join you."

Elrond walked next to the litter, holding Gil's hand. Gil squeezed his lover's hand. "Where do you think you are going, meleth?"

"Wherever you go, my love."

"Where I go you cannot follow. You have much to do. You will be look to for guidance from all, Elrond." They entered the tent and the healers quickly began removing the armor and assessing the wound. There was naught they could do, and most were surprised his still lived.

The king asked everyone to leave and after paying their respects, Elrond and Gil were alone.

"Never take this off, Elrond. It will keep you safe," He gripped Vilya on Elrond's finger. "You must promise me..." Gil coughed, growing weaker with each breath.

"Anything, my love, anything." Elrond kissed his lips and stroked his hair.

"You must live. You must carry on and when I see you again on the white shores, I want to meet you wife and children." Elrond began to protest but gentle fingers on his lips silenced him. "Promise me."

"Yes, yes, I promise. I will not let you down. I love you, I love you." Elrond's tears flowed freely.

"I know you will not, you never have. I love you, Elrond, so much." Gil took a deep breath and his eyes closed. "Elrond, kiss me."

Elrond leaned forward, kissing him gently on the lips. Gil's lips responded then slowly relaxed as his fae began its journey to the Halls of Waiting until he would be returned to Valinor, to await his family and friends.

Erestor and Cirdan arrived at the tent to find Elrond holding the king's body, rocking it gently and sobbing. They knelt by him to mourn with him and offer their support.

Erestor looked over at Elrond and at seeing a tear fall down his cheek; he did what he had done so many long years ago. He went to sit by Elrond and held him, offering his support and love.

"You will see him again, meldir."

Elrond smiled through his tears. "I know, my friend, I know."

Chapter 7

Summertime in Imladris was especially hot this year. Most of the inhabitants would stop their work by the time Anor reached its highest point. Spending the remainder of the day inside, in the shade, or at the river; anything to find some relief from the stifling heat.

Erestor and Glorfindel had decided to go to the river, the twins, Arwen, Lindir and Melpomaen were joining them.

"Ada, won't you and Nana join us?" Arwen asked, holding a basket of snacks for everyone.

"That is an excellent idea. You go ahead; I will find my wife and we shall join you later." Elrond watched them all leave and went in search of his wife.

He made a cursory glance into their room and at not finding her, looked in her sewing room, study and even in the elleth baths. While they had their own private bath, Celebrian would often go the elleth baths to catch up on any gossip.

Elrond loved when she returned from the baths. She would fill him in on all the secret/rumored goings on that never quite made it to his own ears. Many times, the rumors were about Glorfindel and Erestor, which pleased him greatly. His advisor and seneschal thought many of their escapades were secret, but Elrond found out they were mistaken. He loved having something to tease them about.

Elrond made his way back to their chambers. He entered the room, removed his shoes and unlaced his tunic. He heard a soft sigh coming from their balcony. He stood at the open doorway to their private balcony with his mouth agape and his shaft hardening.

There in the shade, lying on a lounger, in a very thin gown, was Celebrian. His beautiful wife, Lady of Imladris, mother of his children was in a most unladylike position. She lay on her back with her legs in the air and her feet resting on the railing. Her legs were uncovered, as her gown had fallen around her hips and she was fanning herself, the neck of her gown open, exposing her breasts.

She made the most erotic and enticing vision and Elrond moved closer. Celebrian hummed softly as she fanned, her eyes closed and she did not hear Elrond approach. He quietly knelt down at the end of the lounger and moved under her legs. She was fully exposed to him and he moved closer and blew a cool breath on the inside of her moist thigh.

Celebrian gasped softly. "Mmmm...if you are not my beloved I warn you, he will be none too happy if he finds you in this position."

Elrond chuckled. "And what of you, my lady? How do you feel about me being in this position?"

"As long as you keep blowing that cool air on me, I will not tell him." She giggled.

Elrond leaned forward and bit her thigh, then licked the area and blew another breath across the wet skin, causing her to shiver.

She finally lifted her head and smiled. "Hello, my heart. What are you doing here this time of day?"

"Well, we were invited to the river with our children and most of the household, but I find our balcony a more inviting spot to get away from the heat."

"It is lovely. I am enjoying it greatly." She slowly let her legs fall apart.

"I see that you are. I watched you for a few moments and found you most enticing." Elrond began kissing her legs and stopping at her heat and inhaling deep, the sweet scent that was solely Celebrian.

Lord Celeborn and Lady Galadriel descended the stairs of the royal flet, but Elrond could only see their breathtakingly beautiful daughter. Elrond had seen her once before, but she was less than ten years old, even then she was lovely. Now she was the loveliest elleth he had ever seen.

Celebrian was just as smitten with Elrond as he was with her. Every free moment they had, they spent together. They talked about their dreams, hopes and their desire for family. They shared loving glances, tender caresses and passionate kisses. Celebrian's parents encouraged her feelings; they were fond of Elrond and thought he was a good match for their spirited daughter.

Elrond had spent the years since losing Gil galad, thinking he would not find love again, thinking he would never feel that deeply for anyone else. Now, he was in love and was thrilled his feelings were returned.

One year later, they were married in Imladris. The valley was celebrating the wedding, and congratulations and wine flowed freely. Erestor and Glorfindel watched the happy couple dancing.

"Elrond is so happy, meleth." Glorfindel whispered in Erestor's ear.

"I have prayed for this to happen. He thought he would never love again after we lost

Gil galad. I have never seen him so in love, not even with the king."

Celebrian laughed as Elrond spun her on the dance floor and everyone applauded.

"Lord Elrond, my husband, you dance beautifully."

"That is only because I have such a beautiful partner, my lady, my wife," Elrond's smile beamed. "I love you, Bri."

"I love you, too. We are going to have a wonderful life, my love."

"Yes, we are, beloved, an eternity with you is an answer to a dream." Elrond kissed her passionately to the joy of all watching them.

Elrond slowly withdrew from his wife and rolled to his side, pulling her close. After over a millennia together, his passion and desire for her had only grown. Hardly a day went by that they did not make love. Most times, their lovemaking was sensual, slow, beautiful and passionate, but other times their sanity seemed to abandon them and they were wild, rough and fast. It did not matter though. What was important is that they loved, and loved greatly.

Celebrian slowly smiled at Elrond. "I knew from the moment I met you that you were special. I knew my life had changed for the better and I would never love another. I knew our life would be incredible together, Elrond, but this life has gone far beyond any dream I could have ever had."

Elrond kissed her and caressed her face. "My life would have no meaning without you and our children. I love you, Bri. I love you so much."

Chapter 8

Elrond and Celebrian stood on the steps of the Last homely House, watching their twin sons getting ready to ride out on their first patrol. Elrond was not really worried, Glorfindel would be with him and would die a second time before he let anything happen to them, but he was melancholy.

It seemed yesterday, they were running around, playing, yelling, laughing, and getting into mischief. Elrond grinned, who was he kidding, they still did all those things. The twins rode out of the courtyard, and Elrond joined his wife in a prayer to the Valar to see them safely home again.

"Elrond, the pains have started. I do believe our sons are ready to make their appearance." Celebrian smiled.

"I love you, Bri," he helped her out of bed and they headed to the healing wing. "Well, it will no longer be just the two of us after tonight, my love."

A guard had alerted Erestor and Glorfindel, who came running behind them, asking if all was well and excitedly talking to each other.

Celebrian chuckled. "Since when has it been just the two of us?" She motioned over her shoulder.

"Point taken." Elrond chuckled and helped her onto a bed.

Come morning, Elrond sat with a twin in each arm, smiling as they slept. Celebrian, exhausted from the labor, slept peacefully in the bed nearby.

Glorfindel returned to the room and knelt by Elrond. "They are beautiful, Elrond. I am so happy for you both."

"Thank you, Glorfindel. They will one day be in your care, meldir. They will need your guidance and wisdom."

"It will be my honor, my lord."

Erestor was losing his patience. All morning he had been trying to teach the twins some simple reading but they insisted on peppering him with questions. Glorfindel had heard them from his office and had gone to get Elrond and Celebrian. They were all standing in the adjoining office, listening.

"Now, sound the word out, Elladan." Erestor encouraged.

"Estor, were you born in 'ladris?"

"No, Elladan. Now, please..."

"Adan, Estor is older than 'ladris. He must have been born in Valnor."

A snort was heard from the office; Erestor looked pointedly at the door and returned to the lesson.

"Elrohir, I was born in Eregion. Now, Elladan, please sound out the word."

"How old are you, Estor?"

"Older than your ada."

The twins looked at each other with their mouth wide. "Older than ada? That is really old."

It was Erestor turn to chuckle. "Yes, he is really old. Can we please get back to our lesson?"

"Okay, Estor." Elladan dutifully sounded out the word perfectly and now it was Elrohir's turn.

"Now, Elrohir, try this word."

"Estor, do you like kissing Glorfindel?" Elrohir smiled and Elladan giggled.

Erestor sighed and flopped in the chair. "Yes, I do like kissing Glorfindel. If you promise to concentrate after lunch, I will answer all of your questions right now."

"Okay, me first," Elladan sat up straight. "Do you know how to fight with a sword?"

"Yes."

"Have you killed an Orc?"

"Yes, I have."

"Ooooohhhh" They said in unison.

They asked him very random questions all morning and then he sent them to lunch. As he cleared the morning lesson from the table, Glorfindel came in and wrapped his arms around Erestor.

"I like kissing you too." He covered Erestor's lips with his and kissed him thoroughly.

Elrond thought back to the twins training, watching their bodies develop and become stronger. Watching their minds grow in knowledge and their spirits grow in confidence. They still gave him moments of stress, like the time the filled the elleth bath with all frogs they had found. When they poured red dye, used for making thread, in the laundry and all the warrior's had to wear pink tunics until more could be made and the pink color faded.

Then they went through the phase when they were very curious about body parts and what could be done with them. He shook with laughter, thinking about poor Elladan trying to relieve himself in a bottle and got his willy stuck. He had stayed very serious until he freed Elladan but collapsed into a laughing fit when he returned to his rooms and tried to tell Celebrian what had happened. They never told anyone about that and Elrohir had promised not to tell.

Elrohir seemed to learn from his brother's mistakes and had less trouble but was always by his brother's side when trouble found them.

Two months later, Elrond and Celebrian stood on the steps again, having been alerted of the patrols return, waiting patiently to see their sons again. As they rode into the courtyard and dismounted, they walked to their parents with their heads held high.

Celebrian whispered to her husband. "They seem older, my love. Do they not?"

Elrond nodded. "Yes, they do and they are. This was their first trip without us. They are adults and I think they are feeling the responsibility more now then ever."

"We missed you, ada and nana." They hugged their parents tightly.

"We missed you too. Come, bathe and rest. We will have dinner in our rooms tonight and you can tell us about your time away from us."

"Ada?" Elladan called his father.

Elrond stopped as he walked away from their room. "Yes, ion."

"If you hear Glorfindel yelling later...we did not do it." Elrohir began laughing and pulled Elladan into his room.

Elrond shook his head and grinned as he walked back to Celebrian.

"Is something amiss, Elrond?"

"Bri, do you remember when we thought they were older?" She nodded. "We were wrong."

"What did they do?"

"I do not think we want to know." He wrapped his arm around her and led her back to their rooms.

Chapter 9

Elrond stood proudly, quietly and rather mournfully, watching as his daughter wed King Elessar, formerly known as Estel, his own foster son.

Elrond walked to his chambers, looking forward to spending some time with his wife. Since the birth of their daughter, Arwen, they had been busy, either with their children or with affairs of their land.

Upon entering the sitting room, Elrond could hear the lovely voice of his wife, singing a lullaby. He walked quietly into their bedroom and by the balcony doors, sat Celebrian nursing Arwen who was staring intently at her mother. A more beautiful sight, Elrond had never seen. While his son's birth was precious, there was something special about Arwen.

Arwen loved being with her ada. From the time she could walk unaided, she was trying to follow him everywhere. Many times, Elrond would hear her following him down the hallway and after he turned a corner, he would wait there for her to come around and then scoop her up, swinging her in the air.

"Where do you think you are going, pen melui?"

"Wherever you go, ada." Arwen giggled.

"All right, sweet one, but only for a short time; then I must work and your nana will be worried about you." Elrond lifted her on his shoulders and carried her to the office.

Erestor had a small desk brought into Elrond's office for Arwen to use when she was there, which was often. She would sit with a quill and parchment and mimic every move her father made, right down to the perfectly arched eyebrow. She began doing that even as an infant, much to the delight of Elrond.

When she began her lessons, her attentions turned to Erestor. She worked very hard to get any praise she could from her tutor. Erestor watched her carefully writing some sentences he had her copy. He was immensely proud of Arwen, unlike her brothers; she was very dedicated to her studies and excelled in them.

"I am finished, Erestor." Arwen proudly handed him the paper.

Erestor looked the work over with a critical eye, seeing Arwen nervously biting her bottom lip.

"I have never seen such beautiful writing, Arwen. You have done a wonderful job." Erestor kissed the top of her head. "I think there should be a special reward for your hard work."

"You do? Thank you, Erestor." She beamed.

"Yes, I think we should have a picnic. What say you, my princess?"

Arwen bounced in her chair. "Really, Erestor? Yes, yes, a picnic!"

"Who would you like to join us?"

"I think Glorfindel would enjoy a picnic."

"Good choice, sweet one. Let us go and find him."

A short time later, Arwen was holding Glorfindel and Erestor's hands as they swung her in the air on their way to the meadow. They encountered Elladan and Elrohir along the way.

"Where are you going?" Elladan asked.

"We are going on a picnic because I did so well at my lessons." Arwen smirked.

"Oh really? Erestor, I do not remember ever getting to go on a picnic for doing well at our lessons." Elrohir pretended to pout.

"That is because I am better than you both." Arwen stuck out her tongue as they left the twins behind.

"My lady, that was not very fitting behavior for a princess." Glorfindel gently admonished.

"I know and I am sorry, Fin, but they can be so mean to me. Sometimes they just ask for it and then I cannot help myself." She gave him a bright smile.

Elrond walked to the guest rooms and heard a familiar song. He wanted to check on Gilraen and her child. They had been in Imladris for a week and had not ventured far from their rooms. He knew Gilraen was still mourning the death of Arathorn, and that she needed time to adjust to her new life in the valley.

He knocked on the door of their room and Gilraen answered, smiling at him and beckoning him inside.

"I heard the singing and was afraid to disturb you, but I wanted..." The singing that had stopped when he knocked started again and he walked into the bedroom. There by the balcony doors was Arwen, holding the infant Estel and singing the same lullaby that Celebrian had sung to her. Elrond smiled, knowing he was seeing Arwen's future, but knowing there was nothing he could do to change it.

Applause and cheers sounded loudly around Elrond, and he looked to see Estel and Arwen kissing. It was done; they were married and Arwen's fate was sealed. Elrond had begun to grieve the loss of his daughter long before today. Perhaps he had started to grieve the day he saw the infant Estel in her arms, but today was a day for happiness. The bright smile on the newlywed's faces would chase away the shadows for today. Elrond had all of eternity to grieve, so today he would celebrate their happiness.

Chapter 10

The Grey Havens, a place of mixed emotions. Many who come here are excited and ready to sail to Valinor, where a peaceful eternity awaited them, but for their loved ones still here, it was a bittersweet farewell. Others mourned, forced to let their loved one sail to keep them from journeying to the Halls of Waiting.

Today, the party gathered at the ship was mourning. Elladan, Elrohir and Arwen sat of the bed in their mother's quarters, trying miserably to put on a brave face. Celebrian kissed them each, whispered something that caused them to smile, and with one last look, the Peredhil children left their mother.

Glorfindel knelt by the bed and kissed her hand. "I believe you owe me a dance my lady. The next time I see you, I will collect the debt."

Celebrian smiled and cupped his cheek. "It will be my honor, Glorfindel. The next time I see you, I expect our husbands to be with you."

"That is a promise." Glorfindel bowed to her and left to give Elrond some time alone with his wife.

"Come here, my love." Celebrian reached for Elrond, who quickly moved to her side, lying next to her. For months, she did not tolerate his touch in an intimate way. Lying next to her was impossible. Only in the last few weeks, did she feel comfortable with his closeness and kisses.

Elrond had not slept in days. Since word of Celebrian's attack and his sons leaving to rescue her, Elrond had prepared for her arrival. He would stare out of the windows, stand on the steps waiting and when word finally came that she was rescued, and Elladan and Elrohir were bringing her back, did he stop for only a moment.

He allowed himself to weep, weep with relief, anger and fear. Elrond would need to be a healer, not a husband when they brought her to him. He must be objective and calm, as if this were any other patient, at least that is what he told himself, but this was not just another patient. This was the love of his life, mother of his children, his soul mate.

He made sure the healing halls were ready for anything he might need. He tried to prepare his mind to be ready to see any thing, but nothing prepared him to see his wife's battered, beaten and ravaged body. The fact that her eyes were closed broke his heart. As they walked to the healing halls, he held her hand as Elladan told him what all he knew happened and what he had already done for her.

Elrond, his children and the healers worked around the clock to heal her body. She was kept in a continuous healing sleep for a week, until many of her physical wounds healed. Then Elrond allowed her too wake for short periods of time, as long as she was not in pain or distressed. Celebrian just stared when she was awake; she did not speak and only occasionally made eye contact.

After almost a month, Celebrian looked at Elrond and gripped his hand. "Thank you, meleth."

"For what, beloved?" Elrond stroked her cheek but she turned her head slightly, away from the touch.

"For loving me." She closed her eyes to sleep, leaving Elrond to cry silently.

Months past with little change in her emotionally. While she opened up more to her family and closest of friends and her body had completely healed, her scars were deeper than any healer could reach.

Elrond held her while they sat on the balcony. She turned her head and smiled. "Elrond, you have done all you can for me and I have no desire to go to the Halls of Waiting."

"My love, you are not..."

Celebrian silenced him. "Beloved, I am fading. I know it and you know it," she took a deep breath, knowing how difficult it was for Elrond to hear what she would say. "I need to sail, my love, and I need to sail very soon."

Elrond's eyes filled with tears and he tightened his grip. He knew she was right and no matter how tight he held her, she would fade if she did not sail. "I will make the necessary arrangements." It was the most important gift he would ever give her.

"Thank you." They both wept as they held each other and began saying goodbye.

Elrond and Celebrian lay together quietly for some moments, "I have never felt so loved, treasured and cherished as I have being your wife, your beloved, your soul mate. I will take all of that love with me and keep it close to my heart until I see you again. I will wait patiently for your ship to arrive. Take care of our children, my love, they will need you."

"I will, Bri, I promise. I love you so much and am so thankful you agreed to marry me," Elrond kissed her gently and inhaled, trying to fill himself with her scent. "I will keep your love here with me until we see each other again." He watch her, knowing she was getting tired and the ship needed to sail. "Bri, I am sorry..."

"No, Elrond, no, do not say it. You have nothing to be sorry for. You have loved me so much, you wanted to marry me and have children together. You loved me enough to do everything within your power to keep our children safe, and me and you healed me. Now, you love me enough to let me go." She stroked his face and pulled his hair to her nose. "No one loves me the way you do. Now, it is time. Go and comfort Arwen and the twins and remember the good times. Remember how very much I love you."

Elrond left the room after Celebrian fell asleep. His anger grew into fury with every step he took away from her quarters, off the ship and by the time he reached his children he was seething. Angry at himself, angry at the creatures that darken the world, endangering those he loves, and hurt Celebrian. Most of all he was angry at the Valar, it would be sometime before this irrational anger would be abated.

Seeing the heartbroken faces of his children and his friend, Elrond calmed long enough to offer some comfort.

"Will we stay here tonight, meldir?" Glorfindel asked.

"No, let us get as far away from the havens as we can." Glorfindel nodded and readied the horses and wagon. Elrond turned to his tearful children. "Let us go home." They hugged each other and made for home.

Elrond sat in a quiet corner of the library. It was quiet, peaceful and secluded. Elrond was in a mood to reminisce. He thought of all of those he had lost, his parents, Maedhros, Maglor, who was rumored to still be in Middle Earth, somewhere, Elros, Gil galad, his first lover, and his soul mate, his wife, his lover and best friend, Celebrian. The consolation was that he would see Celebrian again; he was not sure about the others, but he had hope.

Chapter 11

Having said his final goodbye to Arwen and Estel, Elrond rode away from Minas Tirith with Elladan and Elrohir. Glorfindel and Erestor rode behind them, with Gildor and the guards in the lead. Elrond rode in silence, listening to his sons laughing about young Estel, now King Elessar. He knew Arwen was happy and at peace with her decision, but he still did not know of his son's decision.

Elrond did not know how he would face Celebrian if Elladan and Elrohir chose a mortal life. How could he walk off the ship and tell her all three of their children were gone. Elrond drifted back until he was riding with Erestor and Glorfindel. His friends could feel the sadness and fear emanating from Elrond.

"Meldir, where are your thoughts?" Erestor asked quietly.

"Are they still in Minas Tirith?" Glorfindel asked.

"Nay, they are with those two." Elrond motioned to his sons. "I feel like they have made their decision, but have not shared it with me yet. The fact that they have not shared it with me makes me fear what their decision is."

"I do not think you should worry, Elrond." Glorfindel gripped his arm and then rode ahead, leaving Erestor to talk to Elrond.

What is your real concern, Elrond?"

"If they chose their mortal blood...how can I face Celebrian?" Elrond's eyes never leaving his sons. "She told be to look after them."

Yes, and you have. She told you to take care of them, not make them sail or make their decision for them. The twins have always been close to Estel and friendly with the rangers, but they have always returned home...home to their elven family. I have confidence in them, meldir."

"Thank you, Erestor. What would I do without you and your friendship?" Elrond smiled at him.

"I promise you will never have to find out." Erestor winked.

The ride back to Imladris was uneventful and gave Elrond time to think. He thought of the council in Imladris. He grinned when remembering the hobbits antics and their wonder at the elves and Imladris. They had seen and been through so much by the time they reached the hidden valley, but they were adjusting and recovering quickly. The hobbits could not have imagined the journey they were about to embark on, or surely they would have bowed politely, said no thank you and returned to their merry lives in the Shire.

No one, except perhaps Glorfindel and Erestor, knew the guilt Elrond carried over sending the nine out on their quest. Their lives were in constant peril, not just the hobbits and dwarf, but Boromir of Gondor, his dear friend Gandalf, and also the Prince of Mirkwood and his foster son, Estel.

Then when the call came that help would be needed at Helms Deep. Lorien, Mirkwood, and Imladris forces rode to their aide. Watching Elladan and Elrohir ride away with the elven forces was hard for their father, but he knew it was necessary. When word finally came of the final victory at the gates of Mordor, the destruction of the ring and Sauron's demise, Elrond could breathe again.

Now, they camped a half-day ride from their home. Elrond would then begin the task of packing all of his things and preparing to sail to the Blessed Realm, and his beloved Celebrian. Elladan and Elrohir were returning from the river and their bath, when they passed Erestor and Glorfindel.

"Ada is not joining you?" Elrohir asked.

"No, he is at camp." Glorfindel put his hand on each of their shoulders. "I am not asking you to tell me, but if you have made your decision, please tell your father. That is what has him so quiet and withdrawn. Do not keep him in suspense any longer." Glorfindel looked thoughtfully at them and continued to the river with his husband.

Elladan looked into Elrohir's eyes and they nodded to each other. After returning to camp, they sat next to their father by the fire.

"Ada, we have made our decision and would like to talk to you if we may."

Elrond took a deep breath. "Of course, my sons. I would like to hear your decision."

"Well, ada, after you leave Imladris, we will see to its safety for a while. Then we wish to stay with Arwen..." Elrond felt his heart stop and begin to break. "... until she is gone and then we will sail."

Elrond stared at them, his eye filled with unshed tears. Had he heard them correctly? He went over their words in his head, and then he smiled.

"You chose immortality? You will join your mother and me in Aman?"

"Of course, ada. Did you really think we would stay?" Elrohir smiled and hugged Elrond.

"We have terrorized everyone in Middle Earth. We could not pass the chance to continue on a whole new group of elves that do not know us." Elladan chuckled.

Elrond joined his son's laughter. "I will have to warn them all before you get there."

"Do not dare, ada! That would ruin all the fun." Elladan pulled his father in to his arms.

"You do not know how happy I am that you will sail, and I will admit that I am a little relieved that you will be with Arwen to help her deal with Estel's passing." Elrond felt so much better, and now he truly felt ready to sail, knowing his sons would eventually join them.

Glorfindel and Erestor returned to camp to hear the laughter of their friend. Erestor pulled Glorfindel back before they entered the light of the fire. "Listen, my love."

Glorfindel smiled and then kissed Erestor. "They will sail."

Chapter 12

Galadriel, Celeborn, Glorfindel, Erestor and many of their friends were on the ships that were making their way to the Blessed Realm. Elrond could not sleep. He was excited, nervous, joyful and a little sad. He had left Imladris, the valley he had founded and made his home for so long, and raised his family there. Elladan and Elrohir were now in charge until they felt the need to go to Minas Tirith to be with their sister. Then they would join their parents in Aman.

Elrond tossed in his bed as the ship listed slightly on the sea. All was quiet, except of course, his dearest friends in the next room. Glorfindel and Erestor were by far the most vocal lovers Erestor had ever heard. Elrond chuckled at the moans coming from the chamber next to his and rose to get some air.

He breathed deeply, filling his lungs with the cool night air. He nodded to a couple of deckhands he past as he made his way to the bow of the ship where Cirdan was standing.

Cirdan turned, hearing someone approaching. "Elrond, are you unable to find rest?"

"Aye, I have too many emotions flowing through me to rest...and...two very vocal lovers in the next room." Elrond chuckled as Cirdan threw his head back and laughed. "I suppose they will eventually exhaust themselves and sleep."

"I did not ask you before, did your sons understand my instructions I sent to them?"

"Yes, meldir and thank you. I am in your debt for the help for my son's final voyage to Aman."

"No thanks needed. The ship will be waiting for them whenever they are ready." They stood silently for a few moments. "Well, I will retire now. My room is far enough away from Glorfindel and Erestor that they should not disturb me." He chuckled as he left Elrond at the railing.

"Good night, Cirdan." Elrond looked at the sea; the stars reflecting off its surfaced looked like thoughts of tiny diamonds. Looking up to the sky, he searched for Vingilot, his father's ship. Smiling as he spotted the star moving slowly across the sky, he whispered his greeting.

"Mae govannen, ada. How is the sailing tonight?" Elrond smiled when Vingilot twinkled brightly. "Thank you for guiding our journey to Valinor, ada, and I thank you in advance for guiding your grandsons when they make their journey as well." The star flashed brightly and quickly again. Elrond placed his hand over his heart and bowed his head slightly.

Movement to his right caught Elrond's attention. Looking, he gasped when a beautiful white seabird landed on the railing next to him. He stared at the bird for many moments, the bird staring at him, and when the bird turned slightly, Elrond could see the jewel in its breast.

"Nana?" Elrond whispered, disbelieving his eyes. The bird hopped closer and turned its head, looking Elrond in the eye. He wanted to reach out and touch the bird, but hesitated. Elwing, sensing her son's hesitation, moved closer until her head brushed Elrond's hand. Tears fell from his eyes as his mother touched his hand.

Elrond could not feel feathers or skin; he felt his mother's spirit. It was so very familiar, something he had not felt in a very long time, but he remembered. He petted the bird, allowing it to hop on his arm. He sat down on the deck, leaning against the side, and Elwing made herself comfortable against his chest. Elrond began telling her everything that had happened to him, and found the comfort he would have if he had been sitting in her lap as a child, knowing nana would make it all better.

Elrond did not know how long he remained on deck, petting and talking to his mother, the seabird. He began to feel very tired, the burdens of all he had gone through seemed to leave him as he talked to his mother, and he knew all was well.

He noticed the bird looking into the sky. "Are you going to see ada?" The bird pecked Elrond's chest lightly with her beak. He smiled and leaned down to kiss the bird's head. "Tell him hello and give him my love."

With a long last look, Elwing took off into the sky, flying towards Vingilot where her husband waited for her. Elrond watched as long as he could, but the bird became too small to see. When Vingilot flashed brightly in the sky, he knew they were together, and his heart felt lighter.

A knock at his door woke Elrond the next morning. He did not remember returning to his cabin, but he remembered his time with his mother. Smiling, he rose to answer the door.

"Good morning, Elrond. Get ready, Valinor is in sight. It will be only a few minutes until we dock." Erestor smiled at his friend.

"I will be right up." Elrond turned, dressed quickly and gathered his things.

On the deck, everyone was rushing, deckhands readying the ship for docking and passengers gathered along the railing, eager to see friends and loved ones. Elrond moved to the railing next to Celeborn and Galadriel.

"Can you see her?"

"Not yet, meldir, but we will soon." Galadriel smiled and held Elrond's hand.

The ship was docked and the gangplank lowered. They kept scanning the crowd and Erestor tapped Elrond on the shoulder, pointing into the crowd. Elrond followed where he was pointing and smiled brightly, a cheerful laugh coming from him when he saw Gil galad, smiling and waving.

Gil galad spotted Elrond immediately and waved to him. Then turned his head and whispered to the one standing, actually hiding, behind him. "There he is and you parents are there as well, meldis."

Celebrian giggled and poked Gil in the back. "How does he look, Gil?" Celebrian was bouncing with excitement.

Gil looked back at his friends and could see the excitement, but also the fear in Elrond's eyes as he continued to scan the crowd for his wife.

"See for yourself." He reached behind him, pulled her out, waved to Elrond and lifted a laughing Celebrian up for him to see.

Celeborn hugged Galadriel when they saw their daughter and they turned to Elrond, but he was gone. Erestor laughed and pointed to the flash of black hair now running down the gangplank towards his wife.

Gil galad rushed through the crowd, making a path and pulling Celebrian with him. He pushed her in front of him as Elrond approached, and she launched herself into his arms.

They laughed and cried, kissed and hugged, but never took their eyes from each other.

"Bri, you are beautiful, meleth. I love you and have missed you so much." Elrond kissed her again.

"Oh, my love, how I have missed you. I cannot believe you are finally here," Celebrian stroked his cheek, still not believing her eyes. "You are truly here."

"You are well?" He asked.

"Completely healed and well. I am even better now. My heart is now with me." They kissed passionately while the others gathered around them.

Erestor greeted Gil with a huge hug and a smile. "My king, it is good to see you alive."

Gil laughed and patted Erestor's shoulder. "Oh Erestor, I have missed you." Celeborn waited patiently for Elrond and Celebrian to stop kissing, and finally he cleared his throat.

"Ada!" Celebrian jumped in her father's arms and then hugged her mother. "Oh, nana, it is good to see you again."

"Celebrian, you are more beautiful than ever. Are you well?" Galadriel cupped her face.

"Yes, nana. I am very well."

Gil reached over and tugged on Elrond's arm. "Elrond?"

"Gil...I...I..." Elrond was at a loss for words, so overwhelmed by the moment.

"I know, pen neth, I know." Gil galad hugged him and held him tight for a few moments. "Celebrian is wonderful. I could not have chosen anyone better for you. Now, where are your children?"

Celebrian turned and looked at her husband who was silent. "Elrond, it is all right. Tell us, have our sons made their choice?"

Elrond could not help the tears that filled his eyes. "Yes, beloved, they will sail at a later time," he looked at the ground, not wanting to tell her of Arwen. "Bri, Arwen..."

"Arwen has married a mortal, the King of Men, Elessar. She chose a mortal life." Celebrian spoke rather matter-of-factly.

"How did you know?"

"There have been others to sail before you, Elrond." Celebrian winked at him. "Will Elladan and Elrohir stay with her?" He nodded solemnly. "That is good. I would expect no less from them. We will await their arrival, and rejoice when that day comes."

"You are taking this rather well, my love."

"Elrond, I have known for a very long time that she would likely take that path," she hugged him and whispered in his ear. "Even before I sailed."

Elrond pulled back, with tears in his eyes. "You did not tell me."

She smiled and caressed his cheek. "It was her choice, beloved."

Celebrian enjoyed her reunion with her husband and family. Erestor and Glorfindel chatted with Gil galad until Glorfindel heard his name yelled above the dispersing crowd.

"Glorfindel!" He turned to see who was yelling for him. His eyes locked on a familiar face, smiling and waving at him.

"Thel?" Glorfindel let go of Erestor's hand, and ran to his dear old friend. "Ecthelion!"

They hugged tightly, smiling and laughing. "It is about time you got your arse here. We thought perhaps you had fallen in love with some mortal!" Ecthelion joked.

"I did fall in love, Thel. Come, I want you to meet him." Glorfindel pulled him along to where his husband stood, watching them with a smiling Gil.

"Erestor, I would love to introduce you to my very dear and very old friend, Ecthelion. Thel, this is my husband and love of my life, Erestor."

"Lord Ecthelion, it is indeed and honor." Erestor bowed.

"What is this?" Ecthelion chuckled. "Come here, Erestor," he pulled him into a big hug. "It is an honor to meet you, meldir. I am glad to see someone has finally tamed this one's heart." Ecthelion teasingly punched Fin's arm.

Glorfindel laughed and pulled Erestor back against his chest. Together they watched with their mouths agape, as Gil gripped Ecthelion's arm and pulled him closer, sealing their lips together. "Hello, meleth. You were late." Gil teased.

"I know and I am sorry. I fell asleep by the pond again." Thel blushed.

"A likely story." Gil retorted.

"I did and it is your fault for not letting me sleep last night." Thel kissed him lightly and turned to his shocked friend. "He is insatiable." Seeing the look on Glorfindel's face, Thel thought he should explain.

"Fin, Gil and I are bonded. When I was returned to Aman, I was very lonely and felt lost. Shortly after my return, Gil galad was returned, and we just gravitated towards each other. It was an attraction we could not fight."

"This is wonderful, meldir. I am happy for you both." Fin hugged them and then Erestor did the same.

"Come. You are going to stay with us until your home is ready." Gil motioned for them to follow.

They said their good byes to Elrond, who smiled at seeing Gil holding Ecthelion's hand. Celebrian whispered that they were bound and very happy. Elrond nodded and kissed her and then they walked to the home Celebrian had already arranged to be built for her parents.

Celebrian kissed Elrond's cheeks, wiping his tears away. Finally being with his wife, in their home in Aman, seeing her well and happy and making love to her was overwhelming for him.

"Elrond nin, I have missed you so."

"I have missed you, my love. I only dreamed of being close to you and being able to touch you like this again. I love you, Bri."

"It has been my dream as well, Elrond. Now you can touch me all you wish." She grinned and kissed his chest.

"Well, we will not be leaving this bed anytime soon then." Elrond growled and rolled on top of Celebrian who threw her head back and laughed. It was a sound that was music to Elrond's ears.

121 years later...

Elrond and Celebrian sat on a blanket, under a large tree, enjoying a picnic. Bells tolled in the distance and Celebrian sat up, grinning at her husband.

"Elrond, the bells." She nudged him.

"Yes, I hear them. They are lovely. I have never heard them before." Elrond popped another grape in his mouth.

She shook him. "Elrond, those bells sound when a ship is spotted. That is why you have never heard them. Yours was the last ship to arrive...until now." She waited for the meaning to hit her husband.

"A ship has been spotted?" He looked towards the sound. "Bri! A ship! Elladan and Elrohir!" They jumped up and ran to the beach. A crowd had gathered as a small ship made its way, slowly to the dock.

Four shapes could be seen and at least two of them had dark hair. Elrond and Celebrian stood at the end of the dock, looking intently as the ship came closer.

"Nana! Ada!" The twins yelled to their parents.

"Oh Elrond, they are here. They have finally come." Celebrian wiped tears of joy from her eyes and waved back to them. Elrond waved and wrapped his arms around his wife.

"Look, Legolas is with them, but who...who is that?" Celebrian knitted her brow and looked at her husband who chuckled.

"I do not believe it. That is Gimli, meleth. The dwarf who was part of the fellowship," Elrond shook with laughter. "I cannot wait to see the look on Thranduil's face."

"Go, Gimli and I will secure the ship." Legolas nudged the twins who were about to jump overboard and swim, they were so excited to see their parents.

"Thank you, meldir." Elladan said as they jumped onto the dock and ran to their mother.

"Elladan, Elrohir, my sons! You look so wonderful!" Celebrian laughed as they picked her up and swung her around. Passing her back and forth.

Nana, oh nana, you look beautiful, so beautiful." Elrohir smiled as she stroked his cheek and lifted his chin, the same gesture she had always done to them.

Elrond hugged his sons, so happy they were finally there, but a pang of sadness in his heart, for he knew that meant his daughter was gone.

Seeing the look of sadness on his face, Elladan pulled his father down the dock and Elrohir walked with his mother, their arms wrapped around each other.

"Ada, she was at peace. We traveled with her to Lorien, but she begged us to leave her alone. We stayed on the edge of the forest and knew when she passed. A strong wind blew all around us and her scent was everywhere. She was sad for Aragorn's loss, ada, but she was at peace with her decision."

"Thank you, my son. Thank you or staying with her. Now, come..." he motioned for his wife and other son to join them. "...we are together now. Let us celebrate."

They past Thranduil, who had come at the sound of the bells. "He brought that damn dwarf."

Elrond chuckled. "Be nice, meldir. He is Legolas' friend."

"Yes, yes, I know." Thranduil rolled his eyes and smiled as his son approached.

"It is about time, Greenleaf." His breath forced out of his lungs as Legolas wrapped him in a tight hug.

Lorien and Namo watched the erotic scene below them. Elladan and Elrohir had given up trying to play tricks on everyone, as their father had warned most and all were leery of them. Instead, they decided having each other in every place in Valinor was a more exciting activity.

At this moment, they were in Lorien's gardens. They had traveled until they found the Valar of Dreams garden, Elladan having the fantasy of taking Elrohir here. The peace of the garden had a calming effect on the twins and their coupling was slow and sensual. Their moans drifted to where the Valar watched.

"They are so beautiful, mirror images moving in opposition. It is very erotic." Lorien whispered to his brother.

"It is, and gives me an idea. They are using your garden, we could use their bed." Namo grinned and hugged his brother as they disappeared in a flash of light.

Elladan and Elrohir lay in each other's arms, their breathing finally slowing. Elrohir looked around and shivered.

"Dan?"

"Hmmm..."

"I feel like someone is watching us."

Elladan laughed and rolled on top of his brother kissing him soundly. "Perhaps Lorien is taking some pointers from us." They stared at each other for a moment before dissolving in laughter.
